I guess

I’m sinking into

Almost sleep

Let the day go

Tragic it will not exist

So I cling to it like barnacles

But sleep is delicious

You will inspire

You will light a fire

You will ignite desire

Then you will retire

My democracy

Showed the world all it had to offer

Than it consumed itself

It bit, it chewed, it swallowed

Suffocated and quickly dissolved

In putrid stomach acid

It liked the taste of its tail

Then it kept on eating

Until it consumed its head

My democracy clawed its way up

Then crushed itself down

Till nothing was left
